Dried Hibiscus Flowers – Bold, Tart, Versatile

Dried hibiscus flowers come from the vibrant petals of the Hibiscus sabdariffa plant, known for their deep crimson colour and naturally tart, cranberry-like flavour. Loved across the globe, this floral ingredient is known as sobolo in Ghana, sorrel in the Caribbean, and agua de Jamaica in Mexico — all traditionally used to brew bold, refreshing herbal drinks.

Our hibiscus is 100% natural with no additives or preservatives. Whether steeped into tea, blended into syrups, or added to baking and craft recipes, these petals bring a punch of flavour and colour to every creation.

How to use:
  • To make hibiscus tea (hot or cold):

    1. Add 1–2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus petals to 2 cups of boiling water.

    2. Let it steep for 5–10 minutes (longer for a stronger brew).

    3. Strain and enjoy hot, or chill and serve over ice.

    4. Sweeten with honey, agave, or sugar to taste. Add a slice of orange or ginger for extra flavour.

    Other ideas:
    – Brew a strong infusion for cocktails, syrups, or mocktails.
    – Stir into jams, chutneys, or desserts for a naturally tangy twist.
    – Use as a natural colourant in baking or homemade drinks.

For hair and skin (external use):
    – Create a hibiscus hair rinse by steeping petals in hot water, cooling, and applying after shampooing to add shine and softness.
    – Use the cooled tea as a facial toner or mix with clay powders for a natural face mask.
    – Add to DIY soaps or bath blends for a floral, antioxidant-rich touch.
